What does 205/55 R16 mean?
The following number and letter, such as 91V, are the load index and speed rating. Match the requirements in your vehicle handbook or manufacturer’s fitment information; front and rear tyres can differ.
Three useful label comparisons
Wet grip
The wet-grip grade reports a standardised tyre-label measure. Compare the grade for your exact variant; it is not a complete safety or handling score.
Fuel efficiency
This grade represents rolling resistance. It is one input to fuel use, alongside the vehicle, pressures, conditions and driving.
External rolling noise
The value in decibels is noise outside the vehicle. It does not measure cabin comfort. Missing values are shown with a dash, never zero.

Summer, winter and all-season describe the retailer’s tyre category. Run-flat, extra-load, snow approval and manufacturer-specific markings need separate checks. An EV-suitable label is a retailer statement, not a fitment guarantee.
