The comparison explained
How to compare tyre prices and purchase costs
Choose the correct tyre specification before comparing the price of one, two or four tyres. A matching size alone is not enough to establish suitability for a vehicle.
Are all tyres of the same size interchangeable?
No. Check the full tyre specification, including width, profile, rim diameter, load index, speed rating and relevant XL or run-flat requirements. Confirm suitability against the vehicle requirements and with the seller or fitter.
How are two-tyre and four-tyre totals calculated?
The displayed subtotal multiplies a recorded single-tyre price by two or four. For example, a hypothetical £80 tyre gives £160 for two or £320 for four. It is an arithmetic comparison, not confirmation of a multi-buy discount or available stock quantity.
Does the purchase subtotal include fitting and delivery?
No. The quantity comparison excludes fitting and delivery. Check the retailer or fitter for fitting, balancing, valves, disposal, delivery and any other charges. A lower tyre-only subtotal does not necessarily mean a lower fitted total.
Does a size comparison show every available tyre?
No. It shows the products and retailer records available to this catalogue. The one-, two- and four-tyre table is a selection of lower-priced recorded variants, not a complete market survey or a recommendation to choose solely by price.
Are recorded prices guaranteed checkout prices?
No. A recorded price is an observation from the retailer data available to the site. Retain the observation date where shown and check the seller for the current price, stock, delivery and final total. Absence of an observation date does not establish that an offer is current.
Where should I check the evidence for a comparison?
Use the exact product page, where available, to inspect its identity, recorded retailer offers and source details. A calculation is derived from those records, not an independent retailer quotation. Keep the product variant, currency, exclusions and any observation date together when sharing a price.
